Every podcast editing project runs on a story pass first. We screen the raw footage, tag the moments that carry the argument, and rough out a structural outline before anyone opens a timeline. It's slower on paper and faster in practice — the alternative is an editor guessing at what the video is about while they're already cutting it.

The second pass is where retention gets built. We tighten the pacing (usually 10–15% of runtime comes out in this pass), layer sound design and music underneath the emotional beats, and cut the b-roll to actually advance the argument instead of decorating it. On any long-form video that's the difference between a 42% average view duration and a 58% one.
